Jignesh started his career as a Graduate Research Analyst. He joined an international market research agency in their Marketing Sciences department after graduating with first class honours in Mathematics from Kings College London in 2005. Jignesh initially worked on complex ad-hoc analyses for Media and Marketing clients. Thereafter he specialised and gained significant experience in employee and customer satisfaction analysis, working with clients from a diverse background ranging from aviation and telecoms to FMCG.
After a gap year, dedicating time to voluntary work in India, Jignesh returned to the UK joining the advanced analytics team at Bonamy Finch in 2010 as Analytics Manager. He brings with him a wealth of experience in applying market research analysis using statistical techniques such as segmentation, driver models, data reduction, multidimensional scaling and data imputation.
Why did you choose to work in market research?
I didn’t: Does anybody?! My child hood dream was to work for NASA in some capacity, ideally as an astronaut, but somehow I strolled into market research and fell in love with it.
What is it about market research that attracts you?
The ability to capture “The Truth” through well thought out research methods. Also, the platform to hone professional and personal skills.
If you could do one market research project what would it be?
I’m always fascinated about the diverse world we live in. People’s personalities, characteristics and lifestyles vary so much whether they belong to different communities or even the same. I’d love to conduct a study to find the underlying factors which determine how people ‘choose’ to live their lives.
How do you arrive at work?
Usually quite sweaty though also invigorated after a 22 mile cycle route into work. A great way to kick start a fun packed day at the office, I’d say.
What do you plan to do when you retire?
Throw my laptop and mobile phone into the ocean!
