Paul Jackson

Paul graduated from Southampton University with an honours degree in Sociology and Social Policy in 2001, and joined a large global research agency on a graduate training programme. Paul worked in an advanced analytics role, and quickly became a specialist in branding and segmentation research, working across most business categories.

Paul led the global segmentation team, and played a large part in the development of the global brand experience and market strategy offers. In addition to these areas of expertise, Paul also gained experience within innovation research as a volumetric forecaster.

Paul joined Bonamy Finch in October 2007 and is our Head of Technical Development, ensuring we stay at the sharp edge of applied analytics.

What are you known for professionally?

Being able to talk about complicated analysis in a simple way.

What are you most passionate about professionally?

Making sure that advanced analytics deliver against objectives in a clear, powerful way.

What is the most interesting project you have worked on?

A project aimed at understanding health behaviours and attitudes, with the purpose of generating policies to help encourage and improve healthier living amongst those living in the UK.

Why one should always sense-check their figures....

A political party were slated for being ‘out of touch’ when they wrongly claimed that more than half of girls in the most deprived areas get pregnant before they turn 18. The figure of 54% was actually 5.4%!

Where can we find you when you’re not working?

At the gym, on a plane or in front of a computer. I love to travel around the world, taking in wonderful sights and tasting different types of food. I also like to take on new geeky challenges - at the moment I’m teaching myself HTML.
